Product updates are only applicable to the server installation. A system administrator can apply updates directly on the Mars 8 server. There is no action for end users. Updates become effective immediately upon application.
It is advised that users are off the system when updates are applied. Updating will cause current sessions to come out of sync. There is no requirement that users need to clear out any information (orders, etc). All relevant information is saved on the server. Users simply need to log out prior to the update and log back in after the update.
In order to acquire and apply Mars 8 product updates, follow this procedure:
Download Mars8Update.exe from NBDS and copy to Mars server
Open IIS Manager and stop the NBDS application pool
Right click on Mars8Update.exe and "Run as Administrator"
A Powershell window will open and install the update files. When it finishes, it will say "Press any key to continue..."
Review the window for errors (if errors found, contact NBDS Support)
These are not errors:
Press the enter key to close the output window.
Use IIS Manager to start the NBDS application pool
